Introduction Final Fantasy VIII has hit the US shores in September'99. Being an avid fan, i have already imported the version, and now, i am replaying the US version. In this guide, it will cover all the essential strategies and tips that you need to defeat the two weapons in Final Fantasy VIII, Ultima Weapon and Omega Weapon.
The descriptions for each of the weapons below are pulled from the [Weapons Monthly] magazine in which each of the weapons are found.
Revolver (Starting Weapon)
This time, we introduce a basic weapon. The gunblade’s original model is this Revolver. What it lacks in power, it more than makes up for with its reliability.
Items needed for remodeling: 6x [M-Stone Piece] 2x [Screw]
Shear Trigger
An improvement in power over the Revolver, Shear Trigger uses the same blade as the Revolver, but the gun aspect is now more powerful.
Items needed for remodeling: 1x Steel Pipe 4x [Screw]
Cutting Trigger
The Cutting Trigger is the latest model of gunblade, made by replacing the blade of the Revolver with the powerful Cutting Sword.
Items needed for remodeling: 1x [Mesmerize Blade] 8x [Screw]
Flame Saber
The Flame Saber got its name from its red blade. The gunblade is very similar to the Shear Trigger. The only difference is that it has the Cutting Trigger’s handle.
The Twin Lance is a gunblade forged with two blades. The two blades work synergistically to inflict severe damage. The only drawback is its heavy weight.
The Punishment looks almost identical to the Twin Lance, but it is lighter and more powerful. The only gunblade more powerful than this is the Lionheart.
Of all gunblades (a sword-gun weapon), the finest model is the Lionheart. It requires rare items to be remodeled to its highest quality. Good luck!
Items needed for remodeling: 1x [Adamantine] 4x [Dragon Fang] 12x Pulse Ammo
Pinwheel (Starting Weapon)
Weapons that can be used from a distance have many advantages. The Pinwheel is one of the more basic projectile weapons.
Items needed for remodeling: 3x [M-Stone Piece]
Valkyrie
Valkyrie is a projectile weapon that can fly straight at the enemy using its stabilizing fins. The blade is extremely deadly.
Items needed for remodeling: 1x [Shear Feather] 1x [Magic Stone]
Rising Sun
The Rising Sun is similar to a circular saw. It is made by upgrading the Pinwheel. It is capable of slicing into enemies like a spinning saw and dealing a devastating blow.
Items needed for remodeling: 1x [Saw Blade] 8x [Screw]
Cardinal
The Cardinal is the latest line of projectile weapons. The wide fins provide more stability and accuracy compared to the Valkyrie. Its greater accuracy causes more damage.
A punch can be a deadly weapon, but it can be made even more effective by wearing these, the Metal Knuckle. These gloves are widely used.
Items needed for remodeling: 1x [Fish Fin] 4x [M-Stone Piece]
Maverick
With the Maverick, the combatant can deliver direct punching blows to the enemy. The gloves are made of black leather and have metal plates on the knuckles.
Items needed for remodeling: 1x [Magic Stone] 1x [Sharp Spike]
Gauntlet
The Gauntlet is covered with layers of steel. It is a fighting glove for delivering heavy rather than smooth blows.
Items needed for remodeling: 1x [Dragon Skin] 1x Fury Fragment
Ehrgeiz (Ultimate Weapon)
Ehrgeiz is the most powerful fighting glove. It allows the wearer to deliver optimal hits based on his or her ability.
Items needed for remodeling: 1x [Adamantine] 4x [Dragon Skin] 1x Fury Fragment
Flail (Starting Weapon)
Even a weakling can cause serious damage with this type of nunchaku, but they’re also hard to use. This Flail has long been a favorite for beginners.
Items needed for remodeling: 2x [M-Stone Piece] 1x [Bomb Fragment]
Morning Star
The ends of the Morning Start were equipped with spiked metal balls to cause more damage. It is a plain weapon, similar to nunchaku, but it is fairly effective.
Items needed for remodeling: 2x [Steel Orb] 2x [Sharp Spike]
Crescent Wish
The Crescent Wish is an extremely powerful nunchaku. Some rare items are required to forge this weapon.
Guns have the advantage of range, but damage is less compared to swords. The Valiant uses powerful bullets to cause damage comparable to a sword.
Items needed for remodeling: 1x Steel Pipe 4x [Screw]
Ulysses
The Ulysses lacks style, but is a quality rifle with tremendous firepower. The inelegant design was necessary to absorb the powerful recoil after firing.
Contrary to the Ulysses, the Bismarck has a sleek look. The rifle is very hand and light, but in turn, requires more physical strength and energy to handle its powerful recoil.
Weapons UpgradeI have two Weapon Upgrade Charts. Both of them are very useful. The first chart tells you what weapons are in all the issues of Weapons Monthly Magazine.
The second chart tells you which enemies give you the items needed for the weapon upgrade, what enemies you can steal the items from, and what cards you need to refine in order to get the item.If you did not get all the Weapons Monthly Magazines, acquire Tonberry's familiar menu and purchase all the magazines you missed from Esthar. If you want to upgrade your weapons to the best weapons, you need a lot of rare items. Give your party the Mug ability(acquire from Diablos) and Bahamut's Rare Item ability. You can sometimes use Card Mod to refine rare items from cards, but then you would lose that card(You should decide if it is worth it to sacrifice the card). You should get Squall's Lionheart(acquired if you have his final weapon, Lionheart), his final limit break, the most powerful attack in the game.Good Luck!
